Online powder coating course
The Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI) has launched a new online course covering the whole powder coating process.
The course, which starts on 6 July 2021 and runs for seven weeks will cover powder coating types, manufacturing of powder coatings, surface preparation, powder application technology and recovery systems, curing technologies, quality control, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
It includes weekly assignments, quizzes and interactive forum discussions with the instructor and other students, the organization said. The registration fee includes a copy of CCAI’s Powder Coating for Industrial Finishing Applications training manual.
The CCAI says that the course is suitable for individuals currently working with powder coatings, either as a user or supplier, that want to better understand the overall process and technology utilized in successfully powder coating products; people who are interested in joining a powder coating operation and require a background in the powder coating process to qualify for a specific position; and individuals working in the manufacturing of powder coatings who are interested in increasing their overall knowledge base of the powder coating process
Course instructor Rich Saddler has over 35 years of experience in manufacturing including positions as finishing engineer, manufacturing engineering manager, and operations manager and holds an associate’s degree in finishing technology, a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology, a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master’s degree in manufacturing management. During his career he has installed multiple new finishing lines for both metal and wood products, worked on existing finishing lines to improve capacity and efficiency and lower costs.
The course costs US$750 for CCAI members and US$975 for non-members.
