The FOS-5152 features a proprietary redundancy feature developed by CTS, Fast Ring V2, providing a high-speed recovery time of 50 milliseconds, the same redundancy speed as Ethernet ring protection switching. It’s suitable for a maximum of two topologies of “ring or chain” on one unit, as it can support up to 200 devices in one topology.
Furthermore, the FOS-5152 supports redundant power supplies. Operators can choose one or two power supplies to ensure device availability. When using two power supplies, the operator can simultaneously mix an AC power supply and a DC power supply.
Dynamically adjusted smart fans
To cool down the unit and avoid thermal shutdown, the FOS-5152 features four high-performance variable-speed intelligent fans. Depending on the ventilation needs, the system can adjust the speed of the fans to provide the necessary airflow without compromising power consumption.

Intelligent Diagnostics of Critical Functions and Transceiver
Featuring a set of advanced sensors, the FOS-5152 continuously monitors critical functions such as system voltage (V), CPU usage and temperature, fan speeds, memory usage, and TX & RX power.
The FOS-5152 can auto-detect the transceiver threshold & DDMI. Users can actively check current transceiver status on the Web UI & CLI or let the FOS-5152 trigger an alarm concerning the detection of unwanted temperature/ voltage/ current/ TX & RX power before the situation gets critical.
Additionally, depending on their requirements, operators can manually change the transceiver threshold.
The supplement of strength & diversity of Layer 2 switch functions
Most ISPs are now offering much more functionality than pure internet access. The typical FTTH service includes offerings such as landline telephony on VoIP and high-definition video and TV entertainment.
